SUMMARY:LIVE MUSIC - A Delightful Duo: Honey Bee - 202 North Main Music Room. No cover.
DESCRIPTION:Honey Bee\n\n \n\n	Dawn and Chris\n\n	Music brought Chris and Dawn Bumgarner together. They met at a band audition and were married six months later. "We just knew from the moment we saw each other\," says Chris. The sparks that flew that first meeting led to the forming of "Honey Bee" the name coming from a Muddy Waters song. "If it's good enough for the Rolling Stones (to be named after a Muddy Waters song)\, it's good enough for us\," says Dawn.\n\n \n\n	Like many artists\, Dawn Rogers Bumgarner began singing in her church choir as a child. She studied music at a nearby conservatory while attending high school\, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with B.A. in music. She went on to graduate studies\, specializing in an M.A. in vocal performance and music theory.\n\n \n\n	Dawn has both live performance and studio experience. She has opened for some of the most established acts in contemporary christian music\, and recorded a full-length album of original work in Nashville. She also enjoys\, and has experience in\, both jingle and voice-over work. Growing up in a family of singers\, Dawn learned at an early age to sing harmony by ear\, allowing her to accompany other singers today with ease and precision.\n\n \n\n	"I was born a bass player but my wife made me a guitar player\," is something Chris likes to say. Until Billy Scott's passing\, Chris was bass player with Beach Music Hall of Famer Billy Scott and the Party Prophets. He also fills in with various bands in the area. He first picked up a bass in 1984 and has played with bands in the Charlotte/Statesville area. His love of music inspired him to create\, organize and lead Statesville's successful bid to break the Guinness World Record for Longest Continuous Concert in 2009.
