SUMMARY:National Poison Prevention Week
DESCRIPTION:Did you know North Carolina has one of the highest overdose death rates in the U.S.? Medications are NOT meant to be shared. A medicine that has benefits for one could be fatal for another. In recognition of National Poison Prevention week\, the Mooresville Police Department will be at the Center on March 11 to provide the public with a safe means of disposing of drugs. These are drugs that might otherwise end up in our water system\, putting young children at risks and increase the likelihood of endangering someone?s life or even causing death. Please bring expired medications\, both prescription and over the counter\, that you no longer want or use. The take back will occur between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feel free to bring medications in their labeled containers\, as these will be taken and destroyed as well. For further questions\, contact Officer Childers with the Mooresville Police Department at 704-658-9016.
