SUMMARY:Weight Loss Challenge -12 week program
DESCRIPTION:The Weight Loss Challenger is a fun 12 week program designed to help participants to change their nutritional habits which lead to permanent weight loss\, become more active and lead a healthier lifestyle.  The friendly competition and weekly accountability help participants stay focused on their goals.  The subjects covered include: protein 101\; meal plans\, snacking & water\; metabolism\; carbohydrates\; shopping and cooking\; cellular nutrition\; nutrition labels\; fats\; portion control\, digestive health\; dinning out\; fiber\; sugar\; exercise\; heart health\; and maintenance ?long term health. On Thursday\, January 21 at 10:30 a.m. individuals will weigh in\, take measurements\, and receive an introduction to the program.  The class will meet every Thursday from Jan.  28 ? April 15 from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. at South Iredell Senior Center. Individuals will weigh in each week and take measurements at the end. $35 is collected from each participant and the cash prizes gets paid out as follows: 50% to the winner for largest percent of body weight removed\, 30% to 2nd place and 20% to 3rd place.  There is penalty money collected from weight gainers - $1 per full pound gained and $5 for missing a class\; one missed class is allowed. This money gets paid to the biggest inch loser who did not win the other cash prizes.  The $5 and $35 is used to pay for weekly prizes\, and trophies and copies of handouts.  All monies collected go back to the participants.  Have fun\, get healthy and win money!
