SUMMARY:Wildlife Explorer Programs - Exploring Essentials
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered about some of the critters and plants that live around us here in Iredell County? If so join us for our new Nature Explorer programs. We will hold one each month starting in April and  running through September.  Wildlife Explorers will take a hands-on approach to teaching environmental education to young children ages 5 to 11. Adults are also welcome to participate along with their explorer. Each program will last about 1-1/2 hours\, include park exploration\, and a take home craft to remember your exploration. Pre-registration required and is available online.\n\nExploring Essentials - May 6th\, 1:30pm - 3pm $10\n\nMaps\, setting up camp\, and using our senses to explore the nature right under our noses. \n\n\n\nHomey Habitats - June 3rd\, 1:30pm - 3pm  $10\n\nA habitat is where plants and animals live. A habitat includes all of the things that make a place livable\, including food\, water\, and shelter. Parks provide habitat for many plants and animals.  We'll explore what habitats exist in our local park.\n\nCritters Big and Small  -  July 1st\, 1:30pm - 3pm  $10\n\nAnimals come in every shape\, size\, and color imaginable.  We look for critters of all sizes and shapes and signs of there life in our local parks\n\nWonderful Water - August 12th\, 1:30pm - 3pm  $10\n\nWater is essential to life\, including human life. It really is THAT important. Clean water provides healthy habitats for many plants and animals.  Use nets and some other fun exploring tools to learn about life in the water.\n\nSo Many Birds - September 9th\, 1:30pm - 3pm  $10\n\nBirds are especially cool animals   and there are an amazing variety of birds. Many birds soar high in the sky\, while others do not fly at all. Go on a bird watching walk through the park and learn more about these feathered friends.
