Deep in the heart of scenic Allison Woods (Statesville, NC), the past comes alive for one weekend every year. Dedicated re-enactors from across the South bring a passion for historical accuracy to their portrayal of military and civilian life throughout three centuries of American history. The unique timeline format of this event lets visitors explore the evolution of warfare at their own pace. It honors the challenges, courage, victories and heartaches of those who believed no sacrifice was too great for the cause of freedom.
Explore historically accurate encampments for the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War II and Vietnam War. Be on hand to witness a World War II battle re-enactment with original armored vehicles. Feel the ground rumble when authentic cannon fire and cavalry charge into the fray during a Civil War battle re-enactment. Chat with costumed re-enactors portraying famous and not-so-famous individuals from our past. Take the chilling and poignant Lantern Tour?a guided walk through the night which puts you in the heat of the conflict. Shop Sutlers Row for a unique souvenir, bring your appetite for mouth-watering food and try to resist the temptation to tap your feet to the lively sounds of music from another era. This is an event with something for everyone!
