Are you caring for an aging parent or relative with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias? Come join the Home Instead Senior Care team at the Mooresville Public Library on September 18, 2013 to take part in our Alzheimer’s Family Education Workshops where you will learn how to best help your loved ones with the challenges that Alzheimer’s can cause. This workshop will consist of four different classes. From 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM join us for “Alzheimer’s disease or Other Dementias” where you will learn about the causes and symptoms of Alzheimer’s as well as the behaviors that these symptoms cause. Also at this time join us for the “Capturing Life’s Journey” workshop where we will discuss techniques to provide the best care for those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementias. At 6 PM to 8 PM we will hold a “Techniques to Handle Challenging Behaviors” workshop to help you learn more about the challenging behaviors that may be displayed in Alzheimer’s patients as well as help you to determine what techniques will best help you manage these behaviors. Also take part in the “Activities to Encourage Engagement” workshop to learn about techniques and activities that can help your loved one battle the challenges of Alzheimer’s.
