Celtic Guitar Christmas Concert

The music of Christmas, perfectly suited to the ageless tones of the acoustic guitar, comes to life in Steve Baughman and Robin Bullock's Celtic Guitar Christmas concert. Drawing from their bestselling holiday recordings A Guitar for Christmas, Christmas Eve is Here and Old World Christmas, two of North America 's leading Celtic guitarists join forces to create a uniquely beautiful sonic experience. The magnificently rich sound of two guitars (and the occasional cittern, mandolin or banjo) conjures up ancient musical landscapes and the many moods of the Yuletide season in the hands of these two casual virtuosos. Steve and Robin weave a spell from centuries of tradition and the joy of the season, creating an unforgettable evening of acoustic Christmas cheer. Steve Baughman and Robin Bullock met as instructors at the Swannanoa Gathering's Guitar Week in 2000, sat down to share a few tunes informally, immediately realized that something very special was happening, and proceeded to capture that magic on their debut duo CD Celtic Guitar Summit, which was promptly honored by Acoustic Guitar Magazine with three "Editor's Pick" awards as one of the top CDs of the year. Sing Out! Magazine hailed Celtic Guitar Summit as "a shimmering collection of haunting melodies, ringing tones and consummate musicianship," while Dirty Linen warned that the CD was "guaranteed to lower your blood pressure. Other side effects may include uncontrollable smiling or blissful humming." After touring together whenever their schedules allowed throughout the U.S., Canada and Italy and appearing on each other's solo CDs, Steve and Robin finally released their long-awaited second duo CD, Alone and Together, in 2014.
