The Institute for Emerging Issues at NC State (IEI) will be kicking off its summer "FutureWork Prosperity Tour" in Statesville, on May 17, 8:45-11:30am. Statesville Chamber of Commerce President David Bradley will provide opening remarks, and talk about workforce development preparedness as it relates to the Southwest Regional Prosperity Zone, within the context of rapidly changing demographics and increasing technological demands. This will be a great opportunity to ask questions of community leaders -- the event will be held at the Twisted Oak Bar and Grill, 21 N Center St #104, Statesville, North Carolina, 28677. Hosted by the Statesville Chamber, and with generous support from the Duke Energy Foundation and Local Government Federal Credit Union, IEI staff and friends will travel by bus to each of North Carolina?s eight Prosperity Zones, introducing data, themes, and resources from the 31st Emerging Issues Forum, FutureWork. We will engage with local high schools, colleges and businesses to share regional-specific data and insights from the IEI FutureWork Disruption Index for North Carolina, and seek input for the best pathways forward to ensure each community?s economic prosperity. We welcome community participation, and look forward to a meaningful conversation about FutureWork and its impact on your local community and region.
