The 4th Annual Legends Helping Legends of Racing event will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Memory Lane Museum, Hwy 150 in Mooresville and will run from 11am-4pm. This year's event will honor Rex White, the oldest living NASCAR Grand National Champion and one of NASCAR's Top Fifty Drivers. Rex raced from 1956-1964 and won the 1960 NASCAR Championship, beating The King Richard Petty by almost 4,000 points. Rex is a strong advocate and friend to the racing community and remains very active in his support of the sport of stock car racing. We hope you will plan to come out with your family and friends to honor not only a great driver but a great individual as well. Concessions will be sold by the Statesville Shriners Club and all proceeds from the concessions sales will go to the Shriners Hospital. A 50/50 raffle, door prizes and giveaways will take place throughout the day with proceeds going to the Living Legends Medical Fund. Weather permitting there will also be a vintage race car show in the parking lot and dozens of racing personalities will be available throughout the event to visit with fans and sign autographs. To be held Rain or Shine.
