Dr. Ashley Oliphant will be the speaker for the November 17 meeting of the PROBUS Club of Lake Norman, at the Berea Baptist Church west of Mooresville on Highway 150. Dr. Oliphant, Associate Professor of English and the Faculty Fellow for the Francis Center for Servant Leadership at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC, is the author of "Shark Tooth Hunting on the Carolina Coast". She will be talking about her experiences with shark teeth, shark identification, and other things "shark". Her doctoral dissertation is titled: "Hemingway's Mixed Drinks". She is an animal-welfare advocate in her local community (Lincoln County), and is working to make the local shelter the first no-kill municipal facility in the entire state. PROBUS is an organization of retired Professional and Business people who meet monthly for a speaker and fellowship. All retired Professional and Business people are invited to each meeting at 10 a.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the Berea Baptist Church fellowship hall.
