PROBUS Club of Lake Norman ? monthly meeting, Tuesday, September 15

John Wendel, part of the First Warning Storm Team at WCNC, will be speaking at the September 15 meeting of the PROBUS Club of Lake Norman. The meeting takes place at Berea Baptist Church on Highway 150 west of Mooresville, and begins with a social time at 10 a.m. Besides being on the weather forecasting team at WCNC, Mr. Wendel is an educator and an author. He teaches at UNC Charlotte, and has published ?Nature?s Way, An Understanding of Weather Lore and Proverbs,? which explains the truth and falsities of well-known weather lore. After his presentation, he will take questions. There is no cost for this program, and all retired business and professional people are invited to attend. Those interested will gather for lunch following the meeting. The PROBUS Club of Lake Norman is composed of retired people from the professional and business sectors who join together in a non-political, non-sectarian manner to meet like-minded individuals, keep minds active, make new friends and expand interests. This club meets monthly and gatherings include a half hour coffee social followed by a brief business meeting and a presentation by a guest speaker who will address a topic of mutual interest. Guests are welcome.
