As a caregiver, you have to be realistic about what can and can't be controlled. You can't control the fact that your loved one has a chronic or progressive disease or the impact of that disease, but you CAN control how you respond to the situation. When your loved one no longer knows your name or even the life that you had together it can be very frustrating and overwhelming, and that is a REALITY. Join a discussion on Wed., April 30th at 12:30 p.m. at South Iredell Senior Center for caregiver tips and techniques on how to handle situations better. This informative workshop is designed for caregivers and professionals working with dementia clients, but is open to the general public. The workshop has been set during the lunch hour in order to accommodate individuals work schedules and a light lunch will be provided. The workshop is being presented and sponsored by ICOA Family Caregiver Support Program. Please call 704-662-3337 to register by Fri., April 25th.
