Does your bucket list include everything you want, and done your way? Most people plan for college, marriage, a baby, and even retirement . . . but not for the end of life or what you would want in case of a health emergency. Everything else we plan may or may not happen during your lifetime, but death is inevitable, and no one knows when they might be in an accident leaving them in a condition where they are unable to speak for themselves. This being the case, it makes sense that you should have a written plan in place so that your wishes are carried out. You can start by developing a plan that describes the kind of healthcare you would want if an emergency should happen, and list in writing who you would want to represent you if you can?t speak for yourself. Join RN Sherry Olson for an in-depth look at advance care planning on Thurs., June 25 from 11- noon at South Iredell Senior Center. She will help you put a plan in place, answer those tough questions and point out options that you may not have thought of. Forms will be available and a notary will be on site. To attend, please RSVP with a $1 donation to South Iredell Senior Center by Fri., June 19. No registration by phone.
