Robbie Stevens will be at South Iredell Senior Center on Thurs., June 11 at 10:45 a.m. to present and answer questions on reverse mortgages. Mr. Stevens is a certified reverse mortgage counselor and has been trained by the N.C. Housing Finance Agency (government agency) and falls under strict requirements by HUD. Mr. Stevens is employed by a non profit organization and represents a neutral perspective sharing both the pros and cons of doing a reverse mortgage. He also looks at other solutions for the financial needs that are driving a person towards a reverse mortgage. Following the program each person will have the opportunity to make a one-on-one appointment with the Reverse Mortgage Counselor for individual counseling. By state and federal law, NC consumers are required to receive counseling from an unbiased state certified counselor before they can complete a reverse mortgage.
