Some call it a treasure hunt on wheels, others may refer to it as a test of your problem solving, navigational, and observation skills while cruising a 40 mile drive; we just consider it a great way to spend an hour and a half teaming with friends and family for an afternoon of fun.
Everyone is invited to participate in this charity event on Saturday March 24th, 2012. The Road Rally sponsored by the Top of the Lake Rotary Club will begin starting cars on the course at 2PM. The beginning point is at Jr. Motorsports 349 Cayuga Drive, Mooresville NC 28117. The entrance fee per car is $50 – bring the whole family! Each car must have a driver and a navigator. What a perfect day for doing something that’s fun, different and community-oriented at the same time.
Road Rally participants will be provided with a "route" outline and will have to solve clues along the way. This event, which is more like the old scavenger hunt than a street race, mandates driving at legal speeds and abiding by all laws, so any vehicle can be used. In fact participants in mini-vans may have an advantage if they bring a car full of passengers because they will have more people to help with the clues. Winners are determined by mileage, answers to questions and by the length of time to complete the course.
In addition to the world-wide goal of eradicating polio, the Top of the Lake Rotary Club also supports these local charities: Mooresville Soup Kitchen, HealthReach Community Clinic and Stop Child Abuse Now.
