What would Independence Day be without a parade? This year, Troutman is hosting the Fourth Annual Iredell County Independence Celebration Parade. We are proud to have as this year?s Grand Marshals, Vietnam War era Veterans. If you are a Vietnam era Veteran or know any we?d be honored to have you and them in the parade. Anyone interested in participating in the parade please call the Town of Troutman at 704-528-7600 for entry information. This is a patriotic parade celebrating our Independence and the veterans past and present who made it possible. Saturday, June 28, at 11 am on Main Street in Troutman, you will be able to enjoy this free, fun, family event. Free American Flags will be given to the first 1,500 folks. Last year we had approximately 10,000 visitors. This year, at least 12,000 visitors are expected. This is a small town, old fashion parade with over 150 units participating. These will include marching bands, floats pulled by tractors or pick-ups, antique and classic cars, churches, civic organizations, scout troops, fire trucks, horse and wagons, and many more surprises. And, yes, a politician or two sprinkled in. At the end of the day come back to Troutman with your friends and family, relax and enjoy a breathtaking spectacular firework event to celebrate our country?s freedom and independence. Come join us for this celebration June 28, 11 am, in the Town of Troutman for the parade, and at the end of the day at the Iredell County Fairgrounds for the fireworks extravaganza.
