Do you currently work with the older adult population? Would you like to help reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falling? If so, here?s your chance to be part of an award winning program designed to do just that. The program utilizes volunteer and professional coaches to teach this evidence-based health program.
Topics include: strategies to reduce risk of fall; exercise to improve strength, coordination, and balance; home safety evaluations, problems solving strategies and MUCH MORE. As part of the training you will receive, all materials, handouts, meals, coach manual, and coach/leader certification.

The training will take place on Thursday and Friday, March 4 and 5, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Individuals must attend both days to become a certified coach. To maintain your certification you will be required to lead a minimum of two workshops at South Iredell Senior Center during 2010 and at least once each year afterwards.
