Iredell Health System will host Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, a nationally renowned Alzheimers and dementia care expert on February 17 and 18. Snow is known for engaging her audiences in real-life scenarios and giving hands-on do?s and don?ts for caring for patients with dementia. ?We are very fortunate to have Teepa Snow to educate our staff,? said Ed Rush, CEO of Iredell Health System. ?It is our goal to give employees the knowledge and training to continually improve the overall experience our elderly patients have here at Iredell.? According to the National Institutes of Health, one in seven people over 70 will have some form of dementia. This growth will demand that better processes are put in place to produce a calming, helpful environment for these patients.
