The Senior Center will be holding a workshop on July 18 to start making gift baskets and other homemade items for the grand opening of their Santa?s Gift Shop on November 3. This may seem like a long time off, but it takes a huge amount of time to prepare for a two month sale. Volunteers are needed to help collect, make items, and put baskets together. This past Christmas we sold out of everything long before Christmas came. So this year we?re starting early to provide the best gift shop ever. Thanks to so many contributions and hard working volunteers, 2013 was fantastic! We all know that Senior Center funding was cut so we have to all pitch in and be creative in raising money to keep our doors open. Everyone can help with this; just find some items to donate! All items must be clean and in good condition. No books, clothes or cloth material please. If you?re crafty, consider making something to donate. Donations may be dropped off at the front desk between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. M-F. Donation forms are available for tax purposes. One man?s junk is another man?s treasure, so clean out those closets and drawers. Surely you have some things you can donate. Donations may be dropped off at the front desk of the Senior Center, 202 N. Church St., Mooresville, M-F 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
