The 2008 "Cotton" Ketchie Arts Festival will be celebrating its fifth year on August 22nd ? 23rd at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in downtown Mooresville. Sponsored by the Mooresville/Lake Norman Exchange Club, it brings art to Mooresville while supporting SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now), the Exchange/SCAN Child and Parenting Centers of Iredell County. Named after our local artist, ?Cotton? Ketchie, who is an active member of Exchange and the Board of Directors of the Child Abuse Prevention Centers. The festival raised over $20,000 for child abuse prevention last year. On Saturday, August 23, the festival is open to the public from 10am to 5pm. Admission is free and guests can enjoy shopping for art in air conditioned comfort. Cotton?s new print ?Vintage Mooresville? and a beautiful playhouse built by Lake Norman Home Builders will be raffled off that afternoon. Other surprise raffles will also take place with proceeds going to SCAN.
