- Grief is the normal natural response to the loss of someone or something important. It is unique to the individual experiencing it and there is no general timetable for completing it. We experience many types of loss in our lives everything from divorce, the loss of individual abilities, to loss of a person, and the longer we live the more likely we are to have those losses. Although grief is as individual as each of us it can be helpful to share the journey with others who are also grieving. Join a support group that offers an opportunity to learn coping skills and techniques in a supportive environment.
