Some local community churches are volunteering to help make a difference in our Mooresville community on Sat., Oct. 25 and the South Iredell Senior Center has been asked to help identify seniors that are in need. If you know of an older adult of low income, or that has a situation that enables them to have the means to obtain needed assistance in getting a task completed, these volunteers can help. Examples of assistance that these volunteers can provide include: trimming hard to reach bushes and shrubs, painting, raking leaves, cleaning out freezers, light repairs, changing light bulbs, cleaning out gutters, etc. Any necessary supplies for jobs like repairs are to be provided by the person requesting the help. All requests for assistance must be submitted by Fri., Sept. 26. Completing an application does not guarantee assistance. The number of jobs taken on will depend on the number of volunteers available. Call the South Iredell Senior Center at 704-662-3337 to complete your application.
