Wildlife-lovers can spring into safety out on Lake Norman with a talk by Capt. Greg Shaner of the Cornelius Fire Department, operator of his department’s fire boat, at the next free nature program sponsored by the Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists. The program begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 14 at Mooresville Public Library, 304 S. Main St.
The Cornelius Fire Department’s boat responds to emergencies along the shoreline and in the water using both water and foam for fires, and treating victims of medical emergencies with a modern array of supplies. The captain will talk about lake safety and interesting experiences his department has had out on the lake.
