Spectacular Spiders visit Lake Norman ?Spooky Spectacular Spiders? will be the topic when Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists presents another Free Family Nature Program from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Mooresville Public Library, 304 S. Main St. Dr. David Grant, professor emeritus of Biology at Davidson College, plans to talk about the fascinating behavior, ecology and anatomy of our local spider fauna. He will even bring some live specimens along with him, if weather conditions are favorable. Grant?s interest in spiders, he said, ?grew from my own introduction to these fascinating critters as an undergraduate at Wooster? and was used as a lab-teaching project on higher invertebrate groups while he was at Davidson. Since retirement, Grant continues to volunteer at Discovery Place and Nature Museum in Charlotte and the Schiele Museum in Gastonia. No reservations are required to attend this program. LNWC is a chapter of the NC Wildlife Federation whose mission is to conserve and enhance wildlife habitat in the Lake Norman area for all to enjoy.
